Frequently Asked Questions
-
Are you affiliated to Aqualisa?
No. I am entirely independent of Aqualisa and have no affiliation, accreditation or official relationship with them.
-
Do you fix ALL Aqualisa showers?
There are some showers I have chosen not to fix.
The showers I can usually fix:
Digital showers that use the black, orange or pink processor
Aquastream Mk3 (not MK1/Mk2) showers
Electric ‘Quartz or Lumi’
Bar valves
-
My shower is still in warranty, can you work on it?
No. In these circumstances I strongly recommend you contact Aqualisa directly.
-
What area do you cover?
Based in Stowmarket I also cover Bury St Edmunds, Diss, Felixstowe, Ipswich & Newmarket.
-
Do you charge a callout fee?
No. Diagnosis is included in the fixed visit price, and most repairs are completed in one visit
-
Can I fix my own shower?
Some competent DIY-ers with the appropriate tools, time and patience do replace certain parts themselves.
-
What Insurance do you have?
I have public liability insurance with Howden Insurance. They understand the work I am doing. I am covered!
-
Airlocking
“I’ve been on holiday for a month and now my digital shower makes a horrible noise but doesn’t let water through.”
This is usually just an airlock. Try removing the head from the hose, put the hose down low and run the shower on cold setting to clear out the air.
-
Is a repair always best?
Sometimes a system will have multiple issues. In this event I may recommend you contact Aqualisa for an alternative service or full replacement.
-
How do I pay?
I am registered to take card payments with SumUp. Invoices are generated on site once the task is complete, and payment is taken whilst on site.
-
My shower head holder 'pinch-grip' has failed
I can fix this for you.
-
How long do digital processors last?
That’s a difficult question! They are usually very robust and reliable machines that give long service without issue.
-
Which shower have I got?
Before you make contact, please try to work out which shower you have. If you are not certain then please photograph the shower and, in the case of digital showers, the processor too (if you can safely get to it).
The processor is the “pump box” that makes a noise when you start the shower. It may be in the airing cupboard, in the loft or hidden away elsewhere.
-
My drencher/rainshower head drips unpredictably for a couple of minutes then stops. Why?
This is usually the ‘residual water’ in the head and pipe that is being released as the natural vacuum breaks down. It can cause concern but it is usually a short lived release lasting 1-3 minutes.
It might release hours after the last shower and it is common across most drencher style heads from most brands.
-
Do you do other plumbing?
I have decided to remain specialised on servicing showers. Therefore, I do not undertake other plumbing work.
